Our mission: to make tracking and invoicing cash childcare payments simple and stress-free.
In mid-2024, I became a new parent. I was lucky enough to work for a company that offered generous parental leave, and cherished the months I spent with my infant daughter. Eventually, my wife and I both returned to work and we found a permanent childcare arrangement for the baby.
In the excitement (and tiredness) of new parenthood, though, I realized that I hadn't yet taken advantage of my employer's Dependent Care FSA program. With the final submission deadline looming, I had to piece together invoices from Care.com, receipts from cash payments sent to our sitter, and even more cash payments for our part-time nanny share. I finally got all the documentation I needed, but after submitting everything, I vowed that next year would be better.
And that's why my friend Le, a fellow software engineer, and I made ExpenseFam: the simplest way to track cash payments for childcare and generate FSA-compliant documentation in just a few clicks. Since then, I've been up-to-date with FSA reimbursement claims, and my hope is you can to. Give it a try, and let me know what you think.
